The ruling Rwandan Patriotic Front-Inkotanyi and its four coalition partners claimed 33 of 53 contested seats in recent election. Rwanda's Paul Kagame seems to be far more popular than the ruling Rwandan Patriotic Front- Inkotanyi he heads, with a huge disparity between his share of the presidential vote and the performance of his party and its allies. Kagame's Rwandan Patriotic Front- Inkotanyi is in a coalition with the Centrist Democratic Party (PDC), the Party for Progress and Concord (PPC), the Rwandan Socialist Party (PSR), and Democratic Union of the Rwandan People (UDPR). The Liberal Party of Rwanda came second with 10.97%, with the Social Democratic Party at 9.48% of the vote. The Ideal Democratic Party has received 5.81%, the Green Party is in with 5.3%, the Social Party Imberakuri (supporter of the truth) has 5.26% and lastly, Janvier Nsengiyumva the only independent parliamentary candidate has 0.51%.
