Solar PV part of Uganda Vision to diversify energy generation mixThe 24MWp Solar PV project is being implemented by Ituka West Nile Uganda Limited, a company registered in Uganda and fully owned by AMEA Power. The country’s energy vision is designed to expand generation capacity and reduce dependence on hydropower by diversifying its energy generation mix. The GIZ says solar energy in Uganda has the highest adoption rate among all renewable energy options. Current solar data shows solar energy is high throughout the year with a variation (minimum month/ maximum month) of only about 20% maximum.
