The total cost to the taxpayer since the 2020-21 financial year has been £41,843,297.41 for the running costs of Bute House, St Andrew's House, Victoria Quay, Saughton House and Atlantic Quay. The Scottish Government directly owns Victoria Quay and St Andrew's House, but pays rent on the other three properties. Approximately 3,000 civil servants can be accommodated at Leith’s Victoria Quay, which has cost the taxpayer more than £9.5m to operate in five years.
