President Bola Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to take charge of the security situation following recent terrorist attacks in the area. In a statement he issued on Tuesday in Abuja, Tinubu described the latest developments in Maiduguri as deeply troubling. “The Monday attacks were desperate acts of the evil-minded terrorist groups. Additionally, I have directed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation. The directive followed fresh security incidents in Maiduguri on Monday evening, when explosions occurred around the popular Monday Market and near a security post at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
