Tribunal to set date of verdict in crimes against humanity case against Hasina on Nov 13The International Crimes Tribunal will set a date for the verdict in a crimes against humanity case against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and other top officials of her government for their alleged role in suppressing the July Uprising on Nov 13. The announcement came from the chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal-1, Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, after Attorney General Asaduzzaman’s closing arguments on Thursday. Alongside Hasina, the accused include former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. The case marks the first trial for crimes against humanity against Hasina. Notably, it is being held in the very tribunal her government established to prosecute the war criminals of 1971.
