China’s interest in Pakistan’s IT sector also reflects a broader evolution in bilateral relations. These include gaps in digital infrastructure beyond major urban centers, inconsistencies in taxation and regulatory regimes, and the persistent issue of talent retention amid global competition. If managed wisely, growing Chinese interest in Pakistan’s IT sector can become a catalyst for digital transformation, economic diversification and deeper technological ties between the two countries.
