KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd , which posted a 53.3% jump in net profit to RM61.73mil in the third quarter ended Sept 30, expects its performance to be satisfactory in the next financial quarter. “The directors expect the performance of the group to be satisfactory for the next financial quarter,” Unisem said in the notes accompanying its financial results. Unisem’s directors have approved a second interim dividend of 2.0 sen per share tax-exempt for the current financial quarter ended Sept 30. For the nine months to Sept 30, Unisem recorded revenue and net profit from continuing operations of RM1.3bil and RM177.98mil respectively, representing an improvement of 16.3% and 26.2% respectively against the corresponding 9-month period ended Sept 30, 2021. “The improvement in revenue and net profit was attributable to better average selling prices coupled with the appreciation of USD/MYR and USD/RMB exchange rates,” it said.
