The bee boxes were set up across all seven upazilas of the district by 22 honey collectors. Honey collector Md Nayem, hailing from Faridpur district, said he set up 250 bee boxes in the Kazaikata area of Melandaha upazila. Honey businessman Md Selim Hossain said there is high demand for mustard honey, but inclement weather has discouraged collectors. Monira Yesmin, a primary school head teacher, said she purchased mustard honey directly from collectors at Tk 300 per kilogram.

The Election Commission has declared 1,842 candidates valid while 723 others invalid for the country’s 300 constituencies as the five-day scrutiny process of nomination papers ended on Sunday. The Department of Consumer Rights has imposed fines totaling Tk 2 lakh on three traders in Tangail for selling gas cylinders above the government-regulated price.
