The postal voting registration and voting procedures can be accessed on the EC website. EC Secretary Akhtar said the postal vote would be conducted through only one app. Expatriate Bangladeshis as well as government officials posted across Bangladesh can use the app to cast votes.

The Appellate Division has upheld the High Court’s bail order for former minister Abdul Latif Siddique in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The three-member appellate bench led by Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury issued the order, scrapping the motion to deny the bail submitted by the state. Barrister Sara Hossain represented Latif at the court, while Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman, and Additional Attorney General Aneek R Haque represented the state. The state challenged the bail order at the Appellate Division. Former secretaries Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam and Abu Alam Shahid Khan were later arrested in connection with the case.

A crude explosive has been detonated in front of the Garmeen Bank main branch in Dhaka’s Mirpur. The incident occurred around 3:45am on Monday, according to Sajjad Roman, chief of Mirpur Model Police Station. “We looked at the CCTV footage and saw two people come up to Grameen Bank on a motorcycle, throw a cocktail explosive and drive away,” he said. A man has been shot dead in front of the National Medical College gate near Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court. The murder occurred around 11am on Monday, according to Mollik Ahsan Swami, deputy police commissioner for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Lalbagh Division. He was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital emergency department, where the doctor-on-duty declared him dead, according to Faruk Hossain, officer in charge of the hospital’s police outpost. A man has been stabbed to death by his son over a “dispute” in Chattogram’s Satkania. The incident took place on Sunday night in Nayapara village of Kanchana Union. Satkania Police Station OC Abu Mahmud Kawsar told bdnews24.com that Riyad was the eldest son of Ahammad. The Anti-Corruption Commission has brought charges of misappropriating Tk 104.7 billion against businessman Saiful Alam, better known as S Alam, alongside 66 others from the Islami Bank Bangladesh and laundering the money abroad. On Sept 7, 2020, the bank's board of directors increased the loan ceiling for S Alam Refined Sugar Industries Ltd from Tk 24 billion to Tk 38 billion, exceeding 35 percent of the bank's capital. These funds were later transferred to S Alam Group-related firms, including Sonali Traders, Global Trading Corporation, SS Power, S Alam Steels, S Alam Cement, and S Alam Vegetable Oil. The ACC said that the accused approved unauthorised loans by misusing power and committed criminal breach of trust, forgery, and fraud by manipulating Islami Bank's software. The accused embezzled and laundered Tk 92.83 billion, which with accrued interest now totals Tk 104.7 billion.
