A suicide bomber, suspected of being a member of the Nigeria-based Islamist sect Boko Haram, was shot dead by soldiers on Friday morning in the Cameroonian town of Kolofata (Far North).That city was the scene of a double suicide bombing on Wednesday evening, which claimed the lives of 10 people, including 8 civilians. A few kilometers from there, an explosion cost the lives of two suicide-bombers in Mora while one civilian was reported injured in the incident. A day ago, the authorities declared that it had been one a month, without any fatal incursion of Boko Haram in this bordering region which, at the beginning of the year, was considered safe from terrorist attacks. The jihadist movement, on which the Cameroonian army backed by elements of the African Union’s joint multinational force (FMM) intensified the crackdown, now resorts to suicide bombings and anti-personnel mines in the region.
