Vincent Rigby joined the National Post to discuss Canada's options in the unlikely event of a U.S. military attack on Canada. Rigby emphasized that a U.S. invasion would be considered low-probability but would have a very high impact. He called U.S. President Donald Trump's provocative posts about Canada "destabilizing" but part of a broader strategic playbook, rather than evidence of a threat. Rigby further noted that any hypothetical invasion would be unpopular in the U.S. and extremely difficult to pursue across Canada's vast territory. While the U.S. may have the world’s strongest military, Rigby emphasized that trying to take Canada is a classic case of ‘be careful what you wish for and how much you want to bite off.’”

However, when you take into consideration that Poeltl and Quickley are under contract through at least 2029, it’s much safer to get them off the books than to ride it out and see whether they fulfill the production assumed based on their expensive contracts.

I think Dallas should take a long hard look at maybe trying to flip that pick packaged with some other later selections for an additional impact player on defense. I think of it this way, if it gets to the 20th overall pick and the guy who is at the very top of your list is not there, what do you do? pic.twitter.com/H42gq8w79V — Dan Rogers (@DannyPhantom24) January 11, 2026I say try and flip the 20th pick for additional picks so you can add more players to see if you can hit a home run with a late round pick if you can’t add a day one starter. All I am saying is the Cowboys could probably use that 20th pick and get a guy that can walk into the building tomorrow and make you better. Let’s see how the next three months go, but I don’t think this defense is going to be good enough to compete in 2026.
