An ambulance responding to an emergency was hit by a pickup truck — so the paramedics inside helped out after the crash, California officials said. A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance was responding to a call when a pickup truck T-boned it while crossing an intersection on Sept. 10, according to a post on Facebook by the fire department. The pickup truck had two men in it who ended up colliding with a pole, getting trapped in the wreck, officials said. The two paramedics inside the ambulance were able to get out of the crashed vehicle and started to give medical attention to the “two severely injured” men, fire officials said. The two men were taken to a trauma center in critical condition while the paramedics were taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, the post said.

According to CBC.ca, 40 aircraft carrying more than 7,000 people were diverted to Halifax Stanfield International Airport on 9/11. "Nova Scotians opened their arms and hearts to us," Fennikoh, who also spent summers in the Hamptons, said. Once in Halifax, Fennikoh said they were taken to the home of the Robinson family, with whom she still speaks today. "They became my family that day, my Canadian family," Fennikoh said.

Woodstock library director Jenn Carson said the 2023 Woodstock Reads features Powning’s A Sister’s Tale. Carson explained copies of A Sister’s Tale and the $20 tickets for the Woodstock Reads event are now available at the library and Woodstock town hall. Another one excited to see Woodstock Reads and the promotion of literacy return is Catherine Sutherland, a former Woodstock deputy mayor, councillor and the town’s representative on the library board. Sutherland said the origins of Woodstock Reads date back more than a decade. The arrival of the COVID pandemic hindered attempts to rekindle Woodstock Reads for a few more years.
