Robin Welch, a longtime elementary and middle school principal who has served in Brookline, Wayland, Milton and Framingham, has been named interim principal at Memorial Elementary School. WELLESLEY — Police say "Ember" is back home after she was taken from her front yard last week. In a press release, police said they arrested a 40-year-old Framingham man at his home on Sunday and charged him with stealing Ember. A Redwing Road family had put 8-month-old Ember, a black lab, on its tether in the front yard sometime during the afternoon. “Wellesley Police Officers and the family inspected the tether and the clasp, and found everything to be working,” according to the release. FRAMINGHAM — A local woman is accused of twice striking a police officer with her car early last Friday before driving away, authorities said. Police arrested the 38-year-old woman after the 12:20 a.m. incident, police spokeswoman Lt. Rachel Mickens said Monday. When officers arrived, they spoke to the woman, who was in the car. “While they (the officers) were trying to speak to her, she struck an officer with the vehicle, and then struck them a second time,” Mickens said. The woman was arraigned later Friday in Framingham District Court and released without bail.
