That was during a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Mahmoud Tawfik, who asserted Egypt's commitment to providing backing and support to the Libyan police institutions to overcome the challenges they face. The visit is part of the Egyptian ministry's strategy to develop security cooperation with fellow Arab states, and eagerness to provide technical support and expertise necessary to reinforce regional security and stability. Both ministers also discussed a number of security matters of mutual interest, and ways of expanding security cooperation between both sides. Sept 20 (Reuters) - Ligue 1 club RC Lens will play two home games behind closed doors pending an investigation into the crowd trouble that marred Saturday's derby against Lille, the league's disciplinary committee said on Monday. Lens will host Strasbourg on Wednesday and Stade de Reims on Oct. 1, with a decision on the incident to be rendered on Oct. 6, the statement added. The kickoff to the second half of the Ligue 1 game, which Lens won 1-0, was delayed by about half an hour after crowd trouble erupted at halftime. Lille fans will also be barred from the away end at Strasbourg this weekend, the statement said. Earlier this month, Nice were docked two points, one of them suspended, after serious crowd trouble during their game against Olympique Marseille whose players clashed with home fans who pelted them with missiles and stormed onto the pitch.

WASHINGTON, Sept 20 (Reuters) – The United States plans to mandate COVID-19 vaccines for nearly all non-US citizen international air passengers traveling to the United States as it relaxes other travel restrictions starting in early November, sources familiar with the matter said on Monday. The White House plans in November to allow travelers from countries who have been barred from the United States since early 2020 as it moves to the new requirements, the sources said.

Minister of Immigration and Egyptians Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed announced that for the first time, an optional insurance policy for Egyptians expatriates will be launched. This comes based in coordination with the concerned authorities and in cooperation with the Egyptian Insurance Federation and the Financial Supervisory Authority, through a memorandum of understanding between all three sides. Shaheed explained that the procedures for issuing the policy will be elaborated upon with the relevant authorities soon. This optional document came in response to the requests of Egyptians in the Gulf countries, who represent the largest segment of Egyptians abroad, the minister confirmed. It aims to meet the needs of citizens residing abroad, especially in cases of death and accidents, the transfer of bodies to homeland, and the disbursement of appropriate compensation.

The head of the Electric Power Group for Space Systems at the Egyptian Space Agency, Mohamed Yahya, announced Egypt’s plans to launch the “NextSat 1” satellite in 2022. “NextSat 1” aims to employ Egyptian space technology by participating with foreign parties in implementing a nano-sized satellite, Yahya explained during a phone call to the “al-Mowagaha” (The Confrontation) program. Yahya explained that the Egyptian Space Agency conducts courses in universities to raise awareness of space sciences, and contributes to qualifying Egyptian companies to integrate into the space system. The Egyptian Space Agency is an economic authority established by the decision of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in 2018, and it has a Supreme Council headed by Sisi himself, Yahya said. He added that the authority was established to be an umbrella for Egyptian space activities, entrusted with developing the state’s general strategies in technology and space sciences.

CAIRO – 20 September 2021: Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expats Affairs Nabila Makram stated Monday that optional life and personal accident insurance will be offered for expats who wish to subscribe. The Egyptian government has introduced an insurance policy meant to protect and support nationals traveling abroad, its media center said in August. An insurance document should be issued with each Egyptian passport and should be used within 90 days from departure, the report said. Worth 300 pounds, the traveler insurance document is issued with each new or renewed Egyptian passport for citizens aging more than one month and less than 85 years old. The traveler insurance program does not cover Egyptians residing or studying abroad, as well as pilgrims and illegal immigrants.

CAIRO - 20 Septemebr 2020: The Environment Ministry implemented the largest beaches cleanup campaign in Alexandria in collaboration with the Banlastic Egypt, the Alexandria governorate and a number of civil society partners. In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said the campaign aimed at cleaning a 5-kilometer strip of beaches in Alexandria in addition to disseminating awareness among people about maritime waste and its impact on the environment and maritime creatures. Efforts are underway to register this campaign on the Guinness Records. Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad lauded the campaign as it contributes to preserving the environment, promoting the culture of protecting the maritime environment and raising people's awareness about the importance of protecting the beaches from waste.

Hundreds of people, mostly Huthis and their supporters, attended the execution in Tahrir Square in the rebel-held capital of Sanaa. The nine were among more than 60 people the Huthis accused of involvement in the targeted killing of Saleh al-Samad in April 2018. Al-Samad, who held the post of president in the Huthi-backed political body, was killed along with six companions in an airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition in the coastal city of Hodeida. The British Embassy in Yemen also condemned “the brutal Huthi execution,” which showed “blatant disregard” for a fair trial and due process. KIGALI, Rwanda (AP) — A court in Rwanda says the man who inspired “Hotel Rwanda,” Paul Rusesabagina, has been found guilty of terror-related offenses. Rusesabagina boycotted Monday’s announcement after declaring he didn’t expect justice in a trial he called a “sham.”He has so far been convicted of the formation of an illegal armed group, membership in a terrorist group and financing a terror group. The verdict is still being read out on charges of murder, abduction, and armed robbery as an act of terrorism. Rusesabagina has maintained his innocence, and his family alleges he was kidnapped and taken to Rwanda against his will. Rwanda’s government has asserted that he was going to Burundi to coordinate with armed groups based there and in Congo.

North Cairo Court decided, December 13 to renew the detention of the doctor and another employee for 15 days, pending investigation, in the case of insulting the male nurse. The four-minute video, which went viral on social media platforms, showed the doctor hurling insults at the elderly nurse and asking him to kneel and pray for his dog. The video caused a wave of anger among social media users who saw the doctor misusing his power against the nurse, abusing him and publishing these videos on social media. The doctor called Amr Khairy, added that half of the video is fabricated, and that he never asked the nurse to kneel for his dog. The nurse, Adel Salem, however, affirmed that the whole situation took place as it was showed, six months ago.

Egyptian comedian Mohamed Henedy publically challenged Belgian action star Jean-Claude Van Damme for a “hell-in-a-cell” boxing match set at the Giza Pyramids. “I still stick to my word: a hell-in-a-cell match without laws,” Henedy wrote in a post on Facebook to Van Damme. Yet Henedy humorously set one condition- that Van Damme fights him with his hands tied. After that, Van Damme wrote a post to his fans on Facebook: “I’m receiving a hell-in-a-cell invitation to fight against the greatest comedian in the Middle East…What do you all think, should I accept the challenge?”. It was not clear if Henedy’s invitation to Van Damme was just a joke on social media, or if it was a prelude to an actual event.
