The residents say they are shaken by the lightning bolt they witnessed in the community and the fear instilled may linger for some time since they have not witnessed something like that in the community before. A mother who was pounding fufu had the pestle taken from her and thrown some metres away with her child who playing around hit by the thunder strike, and only able to speak after almost thirty minutes. Recounting the harrowing moments as the thunder strike hit the community, an opinion leader, Karim Mbangwah, described the incident as terrifying and surreal. “The tree has started to wither so if what the fetish priest said is true then we won’t witness such an incident in the community again”.

The unfortunate incident happened when the sprinter bus was transporting passengers from Ablekuma to Kasoa in the early hours of Sunday, July 2, 2023. According to the report by citinewsroom.com, the high-speed collision left several other passengers injured with varying degrees of harm. Eyewitnesses, in the report indicated that the ill-fated vehicle, which was reportedly travelling at an excessive speed, somersaulted three times along the George Walker Bush Highway near Awoshie Water Works. The severity of the crash mangled the bus, and passengers, on the other hand, were left in distress.

According to Amidu, Kissi Agyebeng's actions, particularly, his arrest of the former chairman of the IMCIM and former Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Prof Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, reveals how incompetent he is. In a statement copied to GhanaWeb, Amidu, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, added that his successor has not learnt on the job since he took office. Amidu further stated that the recent arrest and other actions taken by the Office of the Special Prosecutor are aimed at helping the current special prosecutor gain the support of Ghanaians. He said that Agyebeng is just ordering the arrest of people and issuing warnings without following due process.

He drummed support for the NPP's Charles Opoku stating that he was by far a better candidate than James Gyakye Quayson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). A surprised Akufo-Addo went on to dance along with Akua Donkor, with the latter requesting and getting a photo opportunity with the president as the teeming crowd sang along.
