Sri Lanka on Friday handed over the bodies of 45 Iranian sailors killed in an attack on an Iranian warship off the island’s southern coast to Iran’s embassy, officials said. The Sri Lankan government had earlier said the bodies would be kept in the country until the situation improved to allow their repatriation. Amazon India has expanded its dedicated air cargo network by adding a new route connecting Guwahati and Kolkata, a move aimed at strengthening logistics and speeding up deliveries across the Northeast. The new route will be serviced by Amazon Air, the company’s freighter service launched in 2023, which initially connected Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The inaugural Amazon Air flight to Guwahati was flagged off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Friday by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu. "For sellers in the region, the introduction of Amazon Air services to Guwahati will enable enterprises to connect with customers nationwide. Apart from operating its own cargo aircraft, Amazon India also utilises cargo capacity from other Indian airlines to support its logistics network.

India also has created significant excess capacity in petrochemicals, steel, and other industries,” the USTR said. While these options help temporarily, they cannot fully replace the efficiency and scale that commercial LPG provides,” Sutapa said. According to him, the staff were encouraged to use electric induction ranges, electric boilers and other energy efficient electric cooking appliances for suitable preparations.

All six crew members who were on board the US Air Force jet that crashed in Iraq have died, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on Friday. In a statement, the US military had said: "At approximately 2 pm ET on March 12, a U.S. KC-135 refuelling aircraft went down in western Iraq. Four of six crew members on board the aircraft have been confirmed deceased as rescue efforts continue. Earlier in the day, the CENTCOM had confirmed the loss of a US Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker refuelling aircraft over Iraq while supporting military operations, according to an official press release. One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, while the second aircraft was able to land safely," the release said.
