I spoke publicly about perimenopause for the first time recently. I cried on Instagram that I had not slept right for three nights. I hesitated before doing it, partly because I was hoping that I was too young, at age 48, to be in the ‘change’, and partly because talking about hormones feels uncomfortable.

Another year goes by and another conversation around the quality of Irish food begins. In the world of online influence, these travel well, presenting a message of perfection across the board. For the record, I have eaten meals in Irish restaurants that exceed (by some margin) some of the globally lauded establishments. In honour of Irish food, I’m cooking the classics this weekend. Brined to retain moisture, they should be cooked until just soft before being glazed in a rich sauce finished with Irish apple balsamic vinegar.

Your pots or trays of seedlings and freshly-sown seed are sitting pretty on a windowsill indoors, or in a frost-free glasshouse or polytunnel. To protect them and freshly-sown seed from extremes of heat, always provide sufficient ventilation on bright spring days and keep the pots and trays out of direct sunshine. The smaller the seed, the closer to the surface of the compost you should sow it. In particular, using a high-quality seed compost is essential in terms of supporting good germination rates and healthy growth. This discourages the plants from developing what’s known as “blindness”, where leaves but no flowers appear.

Jim Ratcliffe has praised Michael Carrick’s role in reviving Manchester United’s fortunes but refused to be drawn on whether the 44-year-old would be given the job full time. That form has lifted him among the contenders to replace Amorim on a permanent basis but United co-owner Ratcliffe refused to drop a hint. “It’s always about what’s next, what you’re going to react (like), whether you’ve won, whether you haven’t won. “What’s going to be the reaction? “Whatever’s going to happen with England is going to happen, but he’s definitely put himself back in the frame, if he was ever out of it,” said Carrick.

Jackson had hoped to leave Chelsea permanently in the summer but the obligation for Bayern to buy him from the Blues cannot be met. The quota is that Jackson has to start 40 games, as revealed by Bayern president Uli Hoeness earlier on this season. There are not enough games left for him to do so. They believe if Jackson shows he can score, Bayern will find a way to sign him permanently next summer.

In an ignominious reversal, the striking neo-medieval sculpture was usurped by a cartoon figure of a bearded man in blue shorts and sandals. This was Billy Bob, Corwen’s little giant and talisman of a long-established cafe a few yards away. ‌In a patriotic twist, Billy Bob was cloaked in a Welsh flag to remind everyone of Corwen’s historic prominence. “So now we’re having the entire stature re-polished.”In good weather, Billy Bob appears outside the Yum Yums Cafe just across the road. “My grandchildren called the Lego man Billy Bob,” said Chris.

Ireland captain Calen Doris tells ITV: "We asked for a big performance from some of our senior players and big match players and they stood up, the likes of Tadhg Beirne some of the turnovers he got were crucial. We saw what their attack was capable of last week and again today it came in waves but our defence stood up and big moments helped keep them out. "There were some calm heads in there which was helped by the fact we had scoreboard pressure throughout from a fast start which we aimed for as well, it felt composed out there and it was good."

Consider, for instance, the output since the start of the war of the Trump administration’s official informational sewerage system. JUSTICE THE AMERICAN WAY. The true grotesquery of this war is that it is, on some fundamental level, divorced from narrative and meaning. There is, it seems, no coherent narrative of even narrow US interest in which this war can be placed. Referred to as the “porn music video” (or PMV), it formed out of the annihilating overstimulation of endless online content.
