President William Ruto's tour of the US enters its third day today, with a series of significant engagements lined up in Washington DC. Arlington National CemeteryThe head of state will then proceed to Arlington National Cemetery to honour fallen soldiers. The cemetery is one of two cemeteries in the US National Cemetery System that are maintained by the US Army. Tech round table at the White HouseIn the afternoon, Ruto will participate in a tech round table at the White House. This is the first state visit by a Kenyan head of state in two decades and the first by an African head of state since 2008.

President William Ruto on Tuesday apologised to one of his daughters for refusing to allow her to study film. "I now understand about 8 years ago, my daughter and she’s around, asked me 'you know I want to film'. And it’s completely different," Ruto said. At the Tyler Perry studios, Ruto and his delegation were received by American TV host, Steve Harvey. Since he arrived in the US on Monday, President Ruto has held meetings with over 10 different organisations and corporations, including Kenyans living in America.

Three school-going children died on Tuesday after they drowned in a dam in Kathiani, Machakos county. The girls drowned in the Kwa Munyenze Dam in Koma Kathiani subcounty Tuesday evening. The young girls are said to have been washing clothes at the dam when they tragically met their deaths. Katumbi said the Form 1 girl was a student at Kinyui Girls High School while the others were learners at a local primary school. To avert such tragedies, the administrator advised parents against sending their children to dams unattended warning that dams are at this time full of rain water.

Kenya Power has scheduled power interruption in four counties on Wednesday. The company said the interruption will be effected between 9am and 5pm in select areas in Nairobi, Siaya, Migori and Kiambu counties. The scheduled power interuptions are done periodically to facilitate system maintenance. At the same time Kwa DO, Mukinye, Army Barracks, Sukari B, Mwiki School, Kimbo Police, Part of Mwihoko, Farmers Choice, Part of Clay City and adjacent customers will also experience power interruption. Mbaga Mission, Mbaga Girls, Nyachwinya, Futro, Mulaha and Lwala Kaor in Siaya are also scheduled to experience the power interruption.

The prosecution lined up 422 witnesses in the manslaughter case against Shakahola deaths prime suspect Paul Nthenge Mackenzie and 94 others. The prosecution expressed confidence in their ability to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
