Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga on Monday, May 13, revealed that there were some Kenyans who had illegally changed the course of rivers. Speaking during an interview with Radio Citizen, Chidzuga remarked that the said individuals were now seeking compensation from the government. Chidzuga stated that President William Ruto’s administration had set aside a compensation kitty but the aforementioned individuals would not benefit. The deputy government spokesperson explained that the money would only be available to Kenyans who were conned during the issuance of title deeds. The Ministry of Interior now says that the death toll from the recent floods has reached 277. This is even as 75 persons remain missing. Detectives have appealed to the husband of slain Ohangla dancer Sheila Odoyo alias Sheila Wegesha to surrender. The detectives handling the murder said Jackson Bambo, 45, is wanted over the murder of Sheila in her house in Athi River on Thursday morning. The appeal came after police recovered a car that Bambo was using after her murder in Athi River, Machakos county.
