The event is scheduled for Monday March 11, 2024 at State House, Nairobi at 7am,” said Mr Malalah. “The caucus is expected to engage and reflect on the successes of the Kenya Kwanza government and to deliberate on forthcoming coalition activities,” he added. The letter dated March 7, 2024 is also copied to all secretary-generals of Kenya Kwanza Alliance parties.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said the nationwide war on illicit brews, drugs and substance abuse is unstoppable and the Government will not give in despite fightbacks from merchants of death disguised as entrepreneurs. “Illicit brews are killing our children. That is why the Government issued tough directives against Illicit brews, drugs and substance abuse. There is no pride in leading people who cannot work, and without dignity” the Deputy President said. Mr Gachagua also said eradication of the illicit alcohol menace and drugs will lead to a productive nation, with people living in dignity.

Whatever Haiti’s political class determines as the way forward for a transition, multinational security support will be available to support the police and other institutions to establish order for a free and democratic election. PM Henry’s government, for more than a year, has been appealing for an international security force to help. Few nations are willing to step in to help Haiti, and the UN has said it would only provide oversight for the mission when it materialises. There will also be a need to do capacity building for the Haiti security forces because the goal is long-term peace and stability. But the officers can be a force for good in Haiti, and we should support their mission.
