In Nkondi, Tharaka Nithi county a 12-year-old Grade 6 boy at Kiorimba Primary School drowned in a local river. Police said the boy drowned in River Kathita as he and his friends swam. His motorcycle was also torched in the Sunday drama before the body was moved to the mortuary pending postmortem and other investigations.
