Anyone who visits will be mesmerised by the range of grape colours from varieties like Ninel, Jupiter and Dixon. "There is no denying that people are attracted to my house because they want to see and taste the grapes. "It’s probably hard to believe, but each vine can yield 500 grape clusters weighing 500g to 700g each,” said Wan Yusoff, adding that he got his know-how from the Internet. Usually, following a harvest, I prune the vines and they produce fruit again in 90 days,” he said. Wan Yusoff said vines grown in Malaysia produce more fruit through three to four crops a year.

Would this set a precedent for the word “father” and “mother” in legislation in this country to be used interchangeably? For instance, should the courts go further and decide what “father” and “mother” or “husband” and “wife” is to mean? Would it not be better to deal with this lacuna by amending the Federal Constitution to read as “mother or father”? The government should take a proactive and sympathetic approach within the ambit of the law for people genuinely residing in Malaysia to have a right to stay and thus avoid living in uncertainty. In genuine cases, shouldn’t the adopted children have a right to stay here to avoid breaking up the family?
