The New Zealand Open should be back to a multi-course tournament within three years. "We’ve always said we will go to the multi-course model when it’s going to make it work," New Zealand Open chairman John Hart said. "Hogan’s Gully is going to be part of the New Zealand Open, there’s no doubt about that, and it is a spectacular golf course. "I would think 2028 is a possibility, but not likely, for the two courses here at Millbrook, and Hogan’s Gully. "Ultimately, the dream is 18 here [Millbrook], 18 at The Hills, 18 at Hogan’s Gully, and always finishing here."

My interest in poetry was sparked early on at secondary school by our English teacher who introduced us to the work of Welsh poet W H Davies. In his younger years as a tramp, Davies had travelled extensively across the United Kingdom and the United States. This is a portion of that poem;"What is this life if, full of careWe have no time to stand and stare ... ..A poor life this if, full of careWe have no time to stand and stare." Irish poet W. B. Yates was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1923. As suggested by W. H. Davies even amidst the busyness of our lives, it is worth finding time to stand and stare.

Members of a mobile rifle unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces look for Russian drones in the frontline town of Druzhkivka. PHOTO: VIA REUTERS"Breathe deeply, calm down, and don’t go running to stock up on food and matches" President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Ukrainians one month before the Russian tanks rolled across the border on February 24, 2022. Four years and between 200,000 and 400,000 dead Russian soldiers later (estimates vary), the Russian army holds about 20% of Ukraine’s territory. Like the machine guns and long-range artillery of World War 1, the drones force everybody to take shelter below ground level. However, Trump’s threat of war on Iran is driving oil prices back up, which helps the faltering Russian economy.

At that point, people were not yet coming out en masse into the streets to celebrate, according to social media. Earlier today, Iranian officials had dismissed such claims of the Supreme Leader’s death. Later, his official X account posted an image of a faceless clerical figure holding a flaming sword. Iranian officials acknowledge more than 3000 deaths, but say the violence was caused by “terrorist acts” fuelled by the US and Israel. During the protests, the Government had sought to walk a line between acknowledging protesters’ legitimate economic grievances while condemning so-called “rioters”.

Validation showed she is a star of the racetrack rather than the sales ring with her big win in the group 3 Caduceus Club of Southland Alabar Fillies Classic. Validation was not hot property in the sales ring as a yearling last year, being passed in just as her full brother Incentivise was the year prior. For Validation, it was not long after she was passed in in the sales ring that she started showing promise. “She has been a pleasure to do anything with since day one.”Houghton aimed Validation at the group 3 Caduceus Club of Southland Alabar Fillies Classic, giving her a start at Addington to prepare. After holding off a mid-race attack for the lead, the filly cleared out for a big win.
