The moment a 150km/h gust of wind knocks over a campervan with a holidaying family inside has been captured in terrifying dashcam footage. The fully-loaded vehicle was blown over on New Zealand's Mount Cook Road, which leads deep into the southern alps and the country's tallest mountain, Aoraki, at 2pm on Sunday. A sedan traveling closely behind had to swerve off the road to avoid being hit by the sliding camper. Lanes in both directions were blocked, and the family members trapped inside the were miraculously uninjured. The road was closed between Lake Pukaki and Aoraki/Mt Cook after the crash.

There is a sea change happening in the wider electorate which is counter intuitive to what the polls are saying. The electorate is wanting fairer taxes and have the free-loading rich pay much more. After six years of brutal Labour policies under David Lange and Roger Douglas the electorate had had a gutsful. These tax changes the electorate wants won’t impact the 99% of voters who go to the polls. Labour’s failure means we will have to face three years of awful National/Act policies which will deepen the problems we face.

The housing market appears to have had a fairly quiet start to the spring selling season with new listings, stock levels and average asking prices all rising slightly compared to August. Property website Realestate.co.nz received 7812 new residential listings in September, up from 7444 in August (+4.9%) and barely changed from the 7881 (-0.9%) it received in September last year. There was the lowest ever number of new listings for the month of September in nine regions last month: Waikato, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu/Whanganui, Wellington, Wairarapa, Central Otago/Lakes, Otago and Southland. "What's interesting this year is that we are seeing a softer start to spring than expected," Realestate.co.nz spokesperson Vanessa Williams said. Dunedin Study director Professor Richie Poulton. Professor Richie Poulton, who for 23 years was director of the world-renowned Dunedin Study, has died, aged 61. The Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study began in 1972. Dunedin Study researchers have published more than 1300 peer-reviewed journal articles, reports and books on many aspects of mental health, physical health and human behaviour. In 2016, the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development team, led by Poulton, won the Prime Minister’s Science Prize.
