India automaker Tata Motors on Wednesday launched the Tata Punch EV, the company’s latest electric car in India. This is the second electric SUV from the company after the Nexon EV and is based on the company’s Tata Punch. The Tata Punch EV has been placed below the Nexon EV and is now the most affordable electric SUV in India. The Tata Punch EV comes with several improvements over its ICE counterpart and borrows design cues from the Nexon EV.

The Tata Punch.ev gets an illuminated two-spoke driving wheel, just as in the Nexon. Tata.ev launched its Punch EV on Wednesday based on its new architecture. The Punch EV starts from Rs 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.4 lakh for the top-end Long Range (LR) version. The faster Punch EV LR goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 sec and has an electronically limited top speed of 140 kmph. There is also an illuminated logo at the centre of the two-spoke steering wheel, just like on the new Nexon EV.

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has denied reports that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo shunned its invite, adding that the latter instead requested to reschedule his invitation. The CCB had invited the embattled minister over the involvement of his company in a ₦438 million contract with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. The meeting that was earlier scheduled for yesterday (Monday) could not hold as the Minister did not show up at the bureau but sent a memo to the CCB, citing national assignment. He wrote, asking that it be rescheduled because he has a national assignment, so it has been rescheduled for a later date,” Kato said. “We don’t have a precise date now, but it has been rescheduled to another day,” she said.
