Nationwide hikeAccording to the circular seen by PREMIUM TIMES, the petroleum pump price adjustment for the Abuja pump price was increased from N194 to N537 per litre, while Nassarawa moved from N189 to N537 per Litre. The pump price for Plateau increased from N189 to N537 per litre, while Kwara was increased from N189 to N515 per litre. The pump price in Bauchi increased from N199 to N550, Gombe increased from N199 to N550, and Borno increased from N199 to N557. The pump price of petroleum moved from N189 to N515 in Abia, and Imo increased from N189 to N515.

A conflict between Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding the ownership of a building in Ikoyi, Lagos has taken a dirty turn. DSS operatives barricaded an entrance to the EFCC’s office in the building, leading to a protest from the anti-graft agency. Presidential spokesman, Tunde Rahman revealed that the newly-inaugurated President Bola Tinubu had directed the DSS to vacate the building instantly. The siege has disrupted the operations of the anti-graft agency, which has over 500 personnel and many suspects in detention. The DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, has denied that the building’s ownership is in dispute, maintaining that the DSS is merely occupying its statutory facility.

Justice Rahman Oshodi of a Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has sentenced a father, Suleiman Usman to life imprisonment over defilement of his 8 years old daughter. The judge sentenced the father to life imprisonment after he was found guilty as charged by the Lagos State government. His offences contravene the provisions of section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015. However, Justice Oshodi exonerated the convict of the second charge. Justice Oshodi said that he has considered the ingredients of the offences, the confessional statement, circumstantial evidence, and the eyewitness account in sentencing the father to life imprisonment.

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to vacate the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ikoyi, Lagos, immediately. The family of 24-year-old man, Idris Bakare, who was allegedly killed by a police bullet on Sunday night are demanding justice. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to PUNCH Metro on Monday. As fuel scarcity resurfaces in many petrol stations in Kwara state over the purported removal of oil subsidy by the Tinubu administration, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has cautioned fuel marketers against hoarding, saying that the state government would revoke Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) of erring filling stations. “The Governor is seriously concerned about reports of sudden fuel scarcity in different parts of the state. Hoarding fuel bought at subsidised prices and creating panic in the state is opportunistic and will not be condoned. “Fuel stations are to note that the Task Force will dip into their pits.
