CAPE TOWN: Algeria head a list of four bids to host the 2027 African Cup of Nations, which the Confederation of African Football announced on Thursday, but Morocco are a surprise omission suggesting a compromise over the 2025 edition has been struck. A statement said CAF had received bids from Algeria, Botswana, Egypt and a joint candidacy from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for the 2027 tournament after the expiry of the deadline for declarations of interest. CAF have repeatedly delayed deciding who will replace Guinea as the 2025 hosts. Algeria and Morocco are the top two contenders for 2025 but choosing between the two neighbours has become a political dilemma for CAF, sources have said. The two North African neighbours have an adversarial relationship, with diplomatic ties suspended, and winning the rights to host the 2025 Cup of Nations would be a matter of national pride and a public relations triumph.

Share:Pakistan, like other developing countries, plays a critical role in the fight against climate change. Pakistan’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and its commitment to transitioning to renewable energy sources were noteworthy. However, while developing countries are making significant strides in reducing their carbon footprint, the same cannot be said for carbon-emitting countries. The summit highlighted the fact that many developed nations are not doing enough to combat climate change. I urge these carbon-emitting countries to take responsibility for their actions and work towards reducing their carbon footprint.

But the Wild's progress stalled when missed chances and questionable penalties evened the series. Whether the penalties are suspect, borderline or legit, the Wild are consistently shorthanded and the Stars' power play is having a field day. Dallas' infractions, however, are becoming a moot point because the Wild continue to botch their power plays. Yes, the Wild were down a forward almost all of Game 5 since Foligno was kicked out, a game misconduct he and Evason disputed. We've had some situations where reality a penalty that wasn't a penalty or whatever, but that happens all the time.

With very little change to the body of the Kentucky Derby 2023 field, there has been very little change to my fair odds, but I made some adjustments after Wednesday's workouts at Churchill Downs. To put it mildly, Continuar did not look great Wednesday morning, and of course he'll take some money because they all do and because the Japanese angle gets bet. So, whereas before I had Continuar as sort of a wildcard and 100-1 to win the Derby, he is now 500-1 on my fair odds. And since I think he will be 50-1 in the gate, this is obviously a horse I do not want to use for a nickel given he is the biggest underlay in the race based on my fair odds. The reality is, he has hit all his marks: he did not miss any final preps and is working forwardly.
