The cat’s body was found on Shan Pui Ho East Road in Yuen Long. According to the dash cam footage released by another driver, Chow, the tragedy occurred around 2.38 am on June 12. The cat was seen lying on the road when a white Benz drove on without stopping, rolling over the cat. The driver then got out of the car to take a look at the cat but didn’t report the incident to the police. Since the road was a dead end, the car made a U-turn and later drove back, rolling over the cat for a second time.

CUSCS said Thursday the Moodle online learning platform has been hacked on June 3. The information involved included the names, email addresses and student numbers of 20,870 Moodle accounts, including employees, part-time tutors, students, graduates and some visitors. The college has also established a crisis management team composed of the dean, deputy dean, information technology services director, administrative director and communications and public relations director to assess the risks. The information technology security consultant appointed by the college has immediately conducted an investigation and found no large amount of data leaked, and the relevant information did not appear on the dark web.

A video was posted online showing several traffickers landing on a beach in Tai O on Wednesday afternoon. Around 1 p.m. yesterday (Jun 12), the police received a report from residents in Tai O stating that they had found several men jumping ashore after reaching the area by boat, suspecting that they had illegally entered Hong Kong. The police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation, and found five suspicious South Asian men. The men were intercepted and could not provide any valid identification documents, and the five men were arrested for illegal immigration. The video of the incident was later posted online, which showed the moment the speed boat arrived and the five men swiftly jumping ashore.
