Beidaihe has traditionally provided a relaxed setting for retired Chinese Communist Party leaders to interact and raise concerns with the current leadership. China does not announce when leaders go on holiday but typically indicates the start of their vacation with an announcement about meeting experts. At least 100,000 people in the province where Beidaihe is located have been evacuated, but the resort itself has not been affected. Since the founding of the people's republic, current and retired party and government leaders have gathered for summer vacations at Beidaihe, 3-1/2 hours east of Beijing by car. Top leaders have traditionally held official meetings at the resort to discuss important matters such choosing the next leadership, often in consultation with retired party elders.

There are legitimate reasons for these faculty members to have limited outside experience, such as the need for personal presence in their families or budget constraints. Also, external faculty members seeking to raise their professional niche may not be attracted to a university's research level. Given the constraints faced by universities for internationalization in terms of academic mobility of a university's faculty members, a university may link with these nonprofit organizations for funding of projects within the focus areas of these organizations. WHEN writing, our first line of defense against misplaced modifiers or strays is to always place single-word modifiers beside or nearest to the words they modify. The trickiest misplaced modifiers are the danglers, which usually occur in participial phrases, infinitive phrases, and elliptical adverb clauses. The strategies for avoiding dangling modifiers should be very clear by now:(1) Make the subject of the main clause the logical doer of the action. (3) Combine the dangling phrase and main clause into one. THE Philippines has called on the five nuclear weapons states (NWSs) to report on their disarmament obligations to allow all state parties to scrutinize them, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. The meeting of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Working Group convened in Vienna, Austria from July 24 to 28, the DFA said. The Philippines "worked actively towards consensus on detailed measures that aim to hold nuclear weapon states accountable for their disarmament obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), including an interactive reporting process," the DFA said on Tuesday. This obligation is part of the NPT's "grand bargain," under which non-nuclear weapon states (NNWSs) forego their sovereign right to develop nuclear weapons on the condition that they will have access to peaceful uses of nuclear energy and that the five nuclear weapon states will disarm, the DFA said. But no such mechanism exists to hold the five nuclear weapon states accountable for their nuclear disarmament obligations, the DFA stressed.
