Realme has been teasing its upcoming Dimensity 1200-powered phone for a while now and today we get confirmation that the device in questions is the Realme X7 Max 5G. Realme India and Europe CEO Madhav Sheth shared a teaser for the device on his Twitter account and the official landing page for the phone on Realme’s website (URL mentions X7 Max 5G) confirmed we are indeed expecting the X7 Max 5G. If this is indeed merely a rebrand, the X7 Max 5G should offer a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 64MP primary camera and a 4,500 mAh battery with 50W wired charging. The X7 Max’s retail box also managed to leak earlier this month revealing a 120Hz AMOLED display and yet again confirming the Dimensity 1200 chipset. The phone was expected to launch on May 4 before the second COVID wave hit India and forced Realme to postpone the launch.

The Parliamentary Council has approved the appointment of Acting Solicitor General Sanjay Rajaratnam as the new Attorney General of Sri Lanka. The Parliamentary Council decided to concur with the proposal of the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to appoint Sanjay Rajaratnam, PC, Solicitor General (Acting) as the Attorney General upon the retirement of the incumbent Attorney General, the statement said. The official term of current Attorney General Dappula de Livera, who was sworn in to the position on May 10, 2019, is set to come to an end this month. W. P. P. EU member states agreed Wednesday to reopen the bloc’s borders to travellers who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, European sources said. The recommendations will be adopted by EU ministers on Friday, they said. An EU Commission spokesman confirmed that the envoys had endorsed the update to travel rules. This would still exclude non-vaccinated travellers from much of the world, but could allow travel from, for example, Britain, which is well-advanced in its vaccination campaign. The current green list only has seven countries: Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, plus China if Beijing agrees to reciprocate.

This increases the total number of coronavirus recoveries in the country to 123,532. The World Health Organization’s (WHO) European director Hans Kluge warned about a “rethink” on international travel while adding that despite the fragile COVID-19 situation authorized vaccines work against the virus variants. “All COVID-19 virus variants that have emerged so far do respond to the available, approved vaccines,” Kluge said while asserting that social distancing norms should be continued to be followed. Britain on Wednesday reported 2,696 COVID-19 cases and three deaths taking the total number of cases to 4.4 million including over 127, 690 deaths. “Vaccines may be a light at the end of the tunnel, but we cannot be blinded by that light,” Kluge said.
