EU member states agreed Wednesday to reopen the bloc’s borders to travellers who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, European sources said. This increases the total number of coronavirus recoveries in the country to 123,532. Sri Lanka has so far reported 151,343 positive cases of COVID-19 while presently a total of 26,760 infected patients are being treated at hospitals and treatment centers. The death toll due to the virus has risen to 1,061.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Eran Wickramaratne today (20) stated that the Port City Economic Commission Bill is harmful to the country because it would compromise the hard-earned freedom of Sri Lanka. “The extent of this fake patriotism is that the Constitution of Sri Lanka has been violated 26 times due to the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill. He stated that the members of his party are not against the Port City but that they are against the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Bill.
