The meeting, held in the border town of Poipet, was chaired by regional army commanders from both sides -- Thailand's First Army Region, which oversees border areas in parts of Sa Kaeo, and Cambodia's Fifth Army Region, responsible for Banteay Meanchey province. In September, following a General Border Committee (GBC) meeting in Koh Kong, he expressed optimism, particularly regarding the Nong Chan dispute. He said Thailand and Cambodia could adopt a "Nong Chan model" to resolve differences peacefully, while Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul proposed opening additional border crossings.
