DHAKA, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh today formally launched e-passport services at its embassy in Libya, expanding secure and modern consular facilities for expatriates living in the country and neighbouring regions, Home Affairs Ministry said here. The inauguration ceremony, organised by the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya, was attended as the chief guest by the embassy's Charg‚ d'Affaires, Kazi Asif Ahmed. Charg‚ d'Affaires Ahmed said the launch of e-passport services marked a significant milestone for Bangladeshi expatriates in Libya. Expatriates attending the ceremony expressed satisfaction over the long-awaited launch of the e-passport service, saying it would reduce hardship, enhance legal protection and improve overall service delivery. With the inauguration of e-passport services as the 71st mission, Bangladeshi expatriates living in Libya and countries under the embassy's jurisdiction will now be able to access faster, safer and more advanced consular services.
