Bomb smuggled into guesthouse months before Haniyeh killed - reportIsmail Haniyeh was killed by an explosive device that was secretly smuggled into the guesthouse he was staying inside in Tehran, the New York Times reports. The bomb was then detonated remotely once it was made clear the Hamas chief was inside, according to sources. Earlier today Iranians turned out to mourn the Hamas leader at his funeral. His body will then be flown to Qatar, where Haniyeh was usually based, for burial tomorrow. Iran and Hamas have accused Israel of carrying out the strike that killed Haniyeh hours after he attended the inauguration of Iran's new president in Tehran on Wednesday.
