Hasan Mollah, 45, general secretary of the Hazratpur Union unit of BNP, has died after being shot in Hazratpur, Keraniganj, Dhaka, police said. He passed away around 3:45 pm on Saturday at Holy Family Hospital while receiving treatment, said Keraniganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saiful Islam. The OC told the Dhaka Tribune: “The BNP leader died this afternoon while receiving treatment. Operations are underway to arrest those involved.”On Thursday, unidentified assailants opened fire on Mollah in front of the Ward-9 BNP office in Jagannathpur village of Hazratpur Union. He was critically injured and initially taken to Square Hospital in Dhaka.
