CAIRO – 11 October 2021: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received the Speaker of the South Korean National Assembly Park Byeong-seug on Sunday, where they discussed trade and tech industries. Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafy al-Gebaly and South Korean Ambassador to Cairo Hong Jin-wook attended the meeting. Other than the economy and politics, the meeting also tackled means to counter the ramifications of coronavirus pandemic as well as Egypt’s full support for all mechanism that guarantee the stability of the Korean peninsula. For his part, Park said South Korea is keen on expanding investments in Egypt, given its strategic location that allows access to the European market, Africa, and the Middle East. The country is also wiling to transfer the development experience to Egypt, especially as Egypt goes through wide-scale development in recent years, Park added.
