He pointed out to high-level consultations between the two countries in light of the current crisis in the Gaza Strip. Gutiérrez told MENA on Wednesday on the occasion of Spain's National Day, which falls on October 12 that the severe current crisis in Gaza led to holding high-level bilateral consultations. Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares made a fruitful telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, the Spanish diplomat said. Gutiérrez commended the commitment of the Egyptian diplomacy to attaining stability and security in the region at large through the promotion of dialogue and cooperation. The ambassador said Spain is always ready for fostering good cooperation with Egypt in security issues.
