In support of progressivism, I am trying to articulate a progressive Christian political vision. *****No concept of Christ can cage the person of Jesus. Those offended insisted that Jesus was a man and should stay a man and that involving Christ in gender play harmed the faith. (Colossians 1:15–17)In Paul’s understanding, Jesus of Nazareth is the Cosmic Christ, present at creation, grounding creation in communion, and then expressing that communion within creation. LOADING ERROR LOADINGJune 6 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump is free to bar the Associated Press from some White House media events for now, after a U.S. appeals court on Friday paused a lower court ruling mandating that AP journalists be given access. Circuit temporarily blocks an order by U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, who ruled on April 8 that the Trump administration must allow AP journalists access to the Oval Office, Air Force One and White House events while the news agency’s lawsuit moves forward. Rao wrote that the lower court injunction “impinges on the President’s independence and control over his private workspaces” and that the White House was likely to ultimately defeat the Associated Press’ lawsuit. McFadden, who was appointed by Trump during his first term, said in his ruling that if the White House opens its doors to some journalists it cannot exclude others based on their viewpoints. Trump administration lawyers said the president has absolute discretion over media access to the White House and that McFadden’s ruling infringed on his ability to decide whom to admit to sensitive spaces.

The author working at her desk at “Dateline NBC.” Courtesy of Lorna GrahamWhen I tell people I’m a writer at “Dateline NBC,” I get a variety of reactions. “The questions stay unanswered because they’re unanswerable.”I like to think “Dateline” gives viewers a bit of both kinds of stories. But we take on the deeper, thornier questions, too, like how well do we ever really know another person — even one we’re married to? I was stewing in the sour juice of helplessness, bitterness and sadness when I started working on my next “Dateline” story.

Trump and Merz began by exchanging pleasantries — Merz gave Trump a gold-framed birth certificate of the U.S. president’s grandfather Friedrich Trump, who emigrated to America from Kallstadt, Germany, and Trump called the chancellor a “very good man to deal with.”“He’s difficult, I would say? The order, often referred to as the “Muslim ban” or the “travel ban,” was retooled amid legal challenges, until a version was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018. Trump and others have defended the initial ban on national security grounds, arguing it was aimed at protecting the country and not founded on anti-Muslim bias.
