North Carolina’s leaders are slamming President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown for “stoking fear,” fueling division and having a chilling effect on residents in the state’s largest city. “Everyone wants to be safe…but the actions of too many federal agents are doing the exact opposite in Charlotte,” said North Carolina Gov. According to the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents were sent to Charlotte beginning on Saturday in an alleged effort to apprehend undocumented immigrants who’ve committed crimes. As of Monday, the agency had arrested 130 people, including multiple undocumented immigrants who’ve been convicted of driving while intoxicated, per a DHS release. Charlotte advocates and leaders, meanwhile, stress that agents are instilling fear in local communities with their violent tactics and racial profiling.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and President Donald Trump escalated Tuesday as the longtime Trump loyalist turned the president’s “traitor” accusation back on him. LOADING ERROR LOADINGA federal district court ruled that Texas’ mid-decade redistricting enacted in August is an illegal racial gerrymander and ordered the state to use its 2021 maps for the 2026 election. The decision is a massive blow to President Donald Trump’s effort to pressure GOP states to gerrymander House districts to cushion Republicans ahead of the midterms. The map adopted by the Texas legislature in August would have shifted five seats currently held by Democrats into the GOP column. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, responded by initiating a successful process to redraw his state’s maps to offset Texas’ gerrymander. Brown goes on to point out that Dhillon’s explanations for which districts were unconstitutional coalition districts included multiple factual inaccuracies, including the background about how the district lines were initially drawn.

“The real test will be, will the Department of Justice release the files, or will it all remain tied up in investigations? Will the CIA release the files? Trump could have already asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to release the full trove of documents the Justice Department holds on Epstein. While Trump has suggested he would sign the legislation into law if it cleared both chambers of Congress, that doesn’t mean the full files would be made public. For his part, bin Salman claimed he had nothing to do with the assassination of the prominent critic of his regime at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, on Oct. 2, 2018. “It’s really painful to hear, you know, anyone that been losing his life for, uh, you know, no real purpose or nothing illegal, uh, and it’s been painful for us in Saudi Arabia. We did all the right steps of, uh, investigation, et cetera, in Saudi Arabia,” bin Salman said. Trump ignored that assessment as he bathed bin Salman in praise as part of a red-carpet welcome for him that includes a state-visit-like formal dinner, even though bin Salman is not yet the head of state. “What he’s done is incredible in terms of human rights and everything else, and he’s the crown prince, the future king.”AdvertisementTrump’s personal business is simultaneously making major agreements with Saudi Arabia that could enrich Trump personally by millions.
