The transaction’s close concludes a yearslong effort to secure TikTok’s long-term future in the United States and address concerns that it posed a national security risk. When he approved the deal last fall, Trump gave the parties a January 23 deadline to finalize the transaction. The new entity plans to retrain TikTok’s algorithm on US user data, and Oracle will oversee storage of Americans’ data. The US joint venture will also be responsible for content moderation for US users. Trump didn’t mention the bruise during his address, unlike his recent near-miss with a binder clip. MS Now reviewed footage of the event, but was unable to find a moment where Trump bashed his hand. However, photos and videos from the beginning of the event don’t show the bruising on the left hand. In addition, White House officials noted that the bruise did not appear on Trump’s hand during photos taken on Wednesday. A month later, Leavitt once again blamed handshaking for a new bruise on Trump’s left hand.
WASHINGTON — Congress is set to repeal a controversial new law allowing certain U.S. senators to claim millions of dollars in damages from the Justice Department. It’s revenge for House Republicans, who were furious when their Senate counterparts slipped what’s essentially a personal payday into a government funding bill that ended the longest government shutdown in U.S. history last fall. We wanted to get more evidence of that, to corroborate it for trial.”Most senators disavowed the payout provision, which was added to the government funding bill by Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) Scott and other House Republicans were disgusted when they learned about the provision, saying it looked like an obvious self-enrichment scheme. Even though they mostly subscribe to Trump’s lies about Jan. 6, they unanimously added the repeal to a must-pass funding bill on Thursday.

The VA is proposing similar housing for veterans on its campus in West L.A. VA officials disclosed the tiny home plan during a hearing this week as the agency’s first step in complying with the court order. If the tiny homes are meant for the warrior center, there could be conflict with the court if it should deem them substandard. “Do you know the veterans in the past have been concerned about the conditions of the tiny homes?” Carter said. The tiny homes would replace a current parking lot and grassy field adjacent to the existing tiny home village alongside San Vicente Boulevard.
The multibillion-dollar Metro plan is considered one of the most significant transit projects in the country — and is finally moving forward after years of debate. The US has completed its withdrawal from the World Health Organization, the US Department of Health and Human Services said on Thursday, finalizing a longstanding goal of President Donald Trump. HHS said WHO had delayed declaring a global public health emergency, which cost the world critical weeks as the virus spread. Some experts said trying to manage global health through agreements with individual countries would create a patchwork system that won’t replace what the World Health Organization can do. “The U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization is a shortsighted and misguided abandonment of our global health commitments. “Withdrawing from the World Health Organization is scientifically reckless.
A group of Senate Democrats are demanding to know whether President Donald Trump’s inner circle stands to profit from Venezuelan oil sales after CNN recently reported details of the administration’s private talks with the nation’s biggest oil companies. In a letter sent Wednesday night to White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, 14 Democrats are urging senior officials to “immediately disclose any financial interests” they have in companies dealing with the oil industry in Venezuela. Adam Schiff of California and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, among others — come as Democrats increasingly scrutinize the White House for what they say could amount to possible insider trading.
