HÀ NỘI — A seminar themed "Việt Nam-Japan Cooperation Towards Green Growth", co-organised by Việt Nam News, the country's English language daily newspaper, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), is to take place on September 12 in Hà Nội on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the seminar, participants will discuss perspectives on green growth from both sides, opportunities and challenges in realising Việt Nam's Green Growth Strategy for the 2021-30 period and the vision for 2050, the impact and significance of Japan's support for green growth in the Southeast Asian country, suggestions for attracting investment from Japan for green growth, and recommendations from businesses to help implement the strategy. Vietnam opened its Embassy in Mozambique in 1976, showing its respect for and desire to develop the traditional friendship with Mozambique in particular and African countries in general.Economic, trade and investment cooperation is the highlight of the two countries' relationship. Their trade turnover in 2022 reached over 177 million USD, an increase of 16% compared to 2022./.

He told Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Washington DC ahead of the Vietnam visit by President Joe Biden on September 10-11 that the two countries’ diplomatic relations have recorded strong developments, alongside with fruitful cooperation in other important areas such as trade and security. Regarding President Biden's visit, Hagel assessed that it is important for strengthening and promoting bilateral ties. The two countries are looking for areas of cooperation for a better world for all, he said, adding the US and Vietnam normalised diplomatic relations and then built a new chapter in bilateral relations./.

HÀ NỘI — Foreign investment has proven itself as a dynamic economic sector, with significant contributions to the growth of the national economy as well as its integration into the world, heard a recent workshop in Hà Nội. The event was jointly held by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to mark 35 years of Việt Nam’s foreign investment attraction. The official noted a string of policies adopted by the Party and the State to boost foreign direct investment (FDI) and improve its efficiency. Việt Nam regarded science-technology and innovation as one of the most important strategic breakthroughs, Đông said, pointing to positive outcomes the country has recorded in luring foreign investment in this regard, with the presence of such tech giants as Intel and Samsung. At the same time, domestic businesses needed to proactively seek technology transfer channels, he said.

HCM CITY — Digital transformation will be the driving force in achieving a breakthrough in tourism and making that industry green, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà has said. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyễn Văn Hùng said the tourism industry was implementing Government Resolution No 82/NQ-CP to accelerate its recovery. The May resolution identified digital transformation as a core mission to promote the recovery and enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry, he said. Digital transformation would help improve the customer experience and create a positive impact during the entire trip from the booking stage onwards, he added. Other new solutions for sustainable tourism such as human resource restructure, destination marketing, communications strategies, and green tourism development also received much attention.
