A total of 180 officials assigned to polling duties in the Narsingdi-1 (Sadar) constituency participated in the training. The programme was organized jointly by the Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Administration and the Upazila Election Office. Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Faruk, Additional District Commissioner Abu Taher Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, District Election Officer Mohammad Shaheen Akand, Assistant Commissioner Cynthia Hossain, Election Officer Al Noman, and other officials were also present at the programme.

Emphasising the importance of natural canals in draining rainwater, the mayor said proper restoration would significantly reduce waterlogging. He added that the excavation of the Kali Chhara canal is part of a phased plan to clean and excavate all major canals in the city. KHULNA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna police arrested Bismillah, also known as Bismillah Sheikh, 35, in connection with the high-profile triple murder at Darbesh Molla Goli in Tutpara under Labanchara Police Station. Officer-in-Charge of Khulna Police Station, Md Kabir Hossain, said the arrest followed a police raid based on secret information about his whereabouts. Md Yusuf Ali, Investigating Officer of the triple murder case and OC (Investigation) of Labanchara Police Station, said that several accused, including the prime planner Shamim Ahmed, had mentioned Bismillah's name in their confessional statements under Section 164. "He will be formally shown as arrested in the triple murder case and taken on remand. During previous interrogations, he provided several important leads related to the case," Md Yusuf Ali added.
