Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed announced Monday that the third shipment of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccines has arrived, a total of 1,058,400 doses. The latest shipment of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be distributed to 1,100 vaccination centers throughout the governorates of the Egypt. The statement pointed out that the shipment will be subject to analyzes in the laboratories of the Egyptian Drug Authority. The Arab Human Rights Committee of the Arab League (AHRC) convened its 17th session at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat on Monday. In an earlier statement by the ministry on Thursday, it said that joint armed forces placed Hamdok under house arrest. The ministry said Hamdok called on Sudanese people in a statement to adhere to peacefulness and rush to the streets to defend their revolution. Joint armed forces also stormed the Sudanese Radio and Television headquarters in Omdurman and detained a number of workers, according to the ministry. The ministry also noted that the forces closed bridges and blocked the internet from mobile phones.

Minister of International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat revealed that the ongoing portfolio of her ministry includes 143 projects to finance various sectors in the field of infrastructure, valued at a total of US$18 billion in development finance. She explained that these projects represent more than 70 percent of the total portfolio and will implement projects in renewable energy, water and sanitation sectors, transportation, roads and industry in order to improve the sustainability of local communities. This came during Mashat’s participation in a round table held by the Federation of French Companies (MEDEF) and the Egyptian-French Business Council, discussion major projects in the field of infrastructure implemented in Egypt. CAIRO – 25 October 2021: The Egyptian -Sudanese military exercise, dubbed "Guardian of the South-1" that kicked off on October 19, still taking place at Mohamed Naguib Military Base. The exercise, which kicked off last week is expected to last until October 29, with the participation of groups military personnel of the Egyptian and Sudanese border guards. Participating troops attended a number of lectures and performed some practical training aimed at unifying concepts and enhancing skills to boost the troops' ability to secure borders and combat smuggling, infirtlation, and illegal migration activities, making use of state-of-the-art systems and equipment. CAIRO - 24 October 2021: The Health Ministry said Saturday that 881 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases reported in the country since the beginning of the outbreak to 323,733. On Oct.23, Zayed said that Egypt received the third shipment of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine at Cairo airport on Friday comprising 1.4 million doses offered by the US government through the COVAX initiative in cooperation with Gavi, the vaccine alliance. US Ambassador Jonathan R. Cohen had said last week that the Pfizer vaccines are a direct donation from the people of the United States to the people of Egypt. “This is part of eight million Pfizer vaccine doses the United States is sending to Egypt.”The shipments are part of 500 million Pfizer vaccine doses donated by the US to the African Union countries through the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX). Egypt's first Pfizer vaccines shipment arrived from the US in late September.

The strategic stockpile of basic food commodities is sufficient for several months, it said.
