CAIRO – 9 November 2021: Egypt is hosting Tuesday an extraordinary meeting of the Arab Intelligence Forum encompassing chiefs of intelligence bodies at Arab countries whereas the focus of discussions is the issue of Afghanistan. The forum was launched in February by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, who stressed in the opening speech the importance of activating the Arab Intelligence Forum as a strong and supportive mechanism for cooperation between countries. Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir announces that at the end of 2021, all railway coaches will be either new or completely renovated. Wazir said in June that the railway development process includes the modernization of locomotives and coaches, at a cost of up to LE200 billion and is set to be finalized by 2023. Egypt signed a contract back in 2018 with the Russian-Hungarian Transmashholding Company to supply 1,300 train coaches to the ENR. The Adviser to the Health and Population Minister, Aysam Salah said Saturday that starting December all unvaccinated citizens will be prevented from entering government offices unless they can prove they have received a vaccine or submit a negative PCR analysis. Salah added that, based on the decision of the cabinet, state servants will be prevented from entering their workplaces without receiving the coronavirus vaccine starting from November 15. Government statistics showed in October that Egypt has administrated a total of 35 million coronavirus vaccine doses at a cost of US$400. TEHRAN (IQNA) – Donation boxes must be removed from mosques across Egypt, the Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) decided on Friday. “It is prohibited to collect any money, donations or cash assistance in mosques for any reason, and it is strictly forbidden to place any donation boxes inside or outside the mosque from any party or individuals,” the decision stipulates. Egyptian Minister of Endowments Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa set a ten-day period during which all mosques should remove donation boxes from mosques, in implementation of the decision to ban donation boxes or cash assistance in mosques. Deputy Minister of Awqaf Nouh Al-Esawy told DMC channel on Saturday that there are only 220 boxes in 120 mosques that are legally defined to be donated by citizens. The total number of mosques and worship places in Egypt is about 140,000.
