Decarbonisation: for months now, not a single air transport conference has failed to address this issue, which has been all the more compelling since the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which represents the entire sector, made a commitment on 4 October, 2021 in Boston to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The stakes are high: the aviation sector “accounts for 2.6% of carbon emissions and contributes 5.1% to global warming, due to its other effects, in particular the emission of condensation trails”, Antoine Laborde, director of fuel purchasing at Air France, told a masterclass devoted to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in May 2023.

As World AIDS Day, 1 December approaches, UNAIDS urges governments across the world to unleash the power of grassroots communities across the world to lead the fight to end AIDS. Let Communities Lead shows that investing in community-led HIV programmes delivers transformational benefits. Crackdowns on civil society and on the human rights of marginalized communities are obstructing communities from providing HIV prevention and treatment services. If these obstacles are removed, community-led organizations can add even greater impetus to end AIDS. There is a Path that Ends AIDS and AIDS can be ended by 2030, but only if communities lead.

Keyamo, who addressed State House correspondents after the Executive Council meeting on Monday, claimed that the agreements of the deal were unfair to the Nigerian airlines as it would create a monopoly for Ethiopian Airlines. Keyamo stated that President Bola Tinubu has received reports on the matter and will decide whether or not to approve the agreement. “So because of that, we suspended it to say, let’s just look at all the issues and recommend. “In the agreement, you are giving tax waivers to Ethiopian Airlines coming into Nigeria, they ask for tax waivers for five years and you granted them to come and compete with your local airlines who are paying those heavy taxes, how?

Beyond ensuring stability, we’re looking to modernise the sector and open it up to foreign investment, while also increasing and deepening financial inclusion. Q: Will foreign banks be able to acquire shares — including majority stakes — in existing banks? Q: In September, the NBE approved the opening of offshore accounts for strategic foreign investors in the country. NAIROBI, Nov 27 (Reuters) - French telecoms firm Orange (ORAN.PA) told Reuters on Monday that it had decided to withdraw from the process to purchase an up to 45% stake in Ethiopian operator Ethio Telecom. Orange submitted an expression of interest in 2021 to participate in the partial privatisation of Ethio Telecom, a former monopoly with more than 70 million subscribers, Ethiopia's ambassador to Paris said at the time. "Orange confirms that it has decided to withdraw from the ongoing process regarding the sale of 45% of Ethio Telecom," the company said in a statement to Reuters. Ethio Telecom and Ethiopia's finance ministry, which is overseeing the bidding process, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Rep. George Santos may be thinking about stepping down from Congress after all. Facing a likely expulsion vote as soon as Wednesday, the embattled Long Island lawmaker held talks with Speaker Mike Johnson over the weekend, suggesting he could be mulling a more amicable exit. “I’ve spoken to Rep. Santos at some length over the holiday and talked to him about his options,” Johnson told reporters in Sarasota, Fla. “But … it’s not yet determined.”Johnson added that “it remains to be seen” whether Santos would face an expulsion vote this week. The disgraced lawmaker has scheduled a press conference for Thursday, but it’s not clear what the topic might be, especially since an expulsion vote could come before then. Republican leaders released a schedule for House votes that did not include the Santos expulsion, although it could still take place.

(The Washington Stand) One out of every three women who has an abortion develops full-blown depression because of her choice, according to a scholarly review of data tracking post-abortive women around the world. Planned Parenthood has often normalized abortion by claiming, “One in four American women will have an abortion by age 45.” Experts found that one in three of those women will develop depression as a result of their abortion. In some nations, the share of women who feel depressed after undergoing an abortion is as high as 85%, noted the meta-analysis. “It is important that post-abortive mothers know God’s mercy is unfathomable, and it is stronger than our misery and sin. He will take care of everything else.”“Project Rachel Ministry is a wonderful resource for any woman struggling with post-abortive depression,” Szoch added.

Cholera outbreaks continue, signalling concerning limitations of the humanitarian aid currently available. “UNHCR and UNICEF urgently call on all actors in eastern DRC to stop the violence that is taking an enormous toll on the civilian population.
