Sri Lanka on Thursday said it is deliberating appropriate action after a second Iranian ship has sought entry to its territorial waters, a day after a frigate belonging to the Islamic country was attacked near the island nation. Government spokesman and minister Nalinda Jayathissa was on Thursday responding to a query by the main opposition leader Sajith Premadasa in Parliament about the second Iranian ship, located off Panadura, outside Colombo. The ship, according to Jayathissa, awaits in Sri Lanka's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) close to the maritime boundary but out of its territorial waters. Sri Lanka's territorial waters extend 12 nautical miles from its coastline and belong fully to the country. Further, from 12 to 200 nautical miles is the EEZ, where international maritime laws apply but Sri Lanka mainly has rights related to economic activities, not military operations, he explained.

Moradabad : रंगों के त्योहार होली पर जब पूरा शहर जश्न में डूबा था, उसी वक्त सड़कों पर एक दर्दनाक हादसा जिंदगी और मौत के बीच जंग लड़ रहा था। होली के मद्देनज़र कानून-व्यवस्था का जायजा लेने निकले सतपाल अंतिल, वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक मुरादाबाद की तत्परता उस समय सामने आई, जब थाना सिविल लाइंस क्षेत्र के हरथला इलाके में एक दंपत्ति सड़क हादसे में गंभीर रूप से घायल हालत में पड़ा मिला।प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार, मोटरसाइकिल अचानक अनियंत्रित होकर फिसल गई, जिससे पति-पत्नी सड़क पर गिरकर बुरी तरह घायल हो गए। दोनों सड़क पर तड़प रहे थे और मौके पर अफरा-तफरी मच गई। संयोग से उसी दौरान एसएसपी का काफिला वहां से गुजर रहा था। स्थिति की गंभीरता को भांपते हुए उन्होंने बिना देर किए अपने एस्कॉर्ट वाहन (जिप्सी) को रुकवाया और हमराही पुलिसकर्मियों की मदद से दोनों घायलों को तत्काल अस्पताल भिजवाया। साथ ही यातायात को नियंत्रित कर जाम की स्थिति भी नहीं बनने दी।प्रारंभिक जांच में सामने आया कि हादसा मोटरसाइकिल के फिसलने से हुआ। हालांकि स्थानीय लोगों के बीच यह चर्चा भी रही कि बाइक को किसी अज्ञात कार ने टक्कर मारी थी, जिसके बाद दंपत्ति सड़क पर गिर पड़े। पुलिस ने इस संभावना से भी इनकार नहीं किया है और आसपास लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों की फुटेज खंगाली जा रही है, ताकि सच सामने आ सके।घायलों को पहले सिद्ध अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया। प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद युवक की हालत चिंताजनक देखते हुए उसे कांठ रोड स्थित एक निजी अस्पताल में रेफर किया गया। डॉक्टरों ने काफी प्रयास किए, लेकिन गंभीर चोटों के कारण युवक ने इलाज के दौरान दम तोड़ दिया। उसकी मौत की खबर मिलते ही परिवार में कोहराम मच गया। होली की खुशियां पलभर में मातम में बदल गईं। वहीं महिला की हालत स्थिर बताई जा रही है और उसका उपचार जारी है। पुलिस ने परिजनों को सूचना दे दी है और आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी गई है। पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट के बाद ही मौत के सटीक कारणों की पुष्टि हो सकेगी।होली जैसे संवेदनशील पर्व पर एसएसपी का स्वयं सड़कों पर उतरकर निगरानी करना और घायल दंपत्ति को तत्काल अस्पताल पहुंचाना पुलिस की सक्रियता को दर्शाता है। हालांकि तमाम प्रयासों के बावजूद एक जिंदगी को बचाया नहीं जा सका। अब बड़ा सवाल यही है क्या यह महज फिसलन का हादसा था या फिर हिट एंड रन? पुलिस हर एंगल से जांच में जुटी है, ताकि सच्चाई सामने लाई जा सके।

Fatehpur : बकेवर थाना क्षेत्र के देवमई–सुजावलपुर मार्ग पर भीषण सड़क हादसे में 45 वर्षीय जाकिर अली उर्फ बल्लू की मौत हो गई। वह सुजावलपुर गांव के रहने वाले थे और पेशे से पेंटर थे।जानकारी के अनुसार, जाकिर अली निजी काम से देवमई की ओर जा रहे थे। इसी दौरान सामने से आ रही तेज रफ्तार बाइक से उनकी भिड़ंत हो गई। टक्कर के बाद वह गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए और मौके पर ही उन्होंने दम तोड़ दिया।परिजनों का आरोप है कि बाइक गांव का ही एक युवक चला रहा था। हादसे के बाद वह मौके से फरार हो गया। परिवार ने आरोपी के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग की है।सूचना पर पहुंची पुलिस ने जांच के बाद शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया। पुलिस का कहना है कि तहरीर मिलने पर मुकदमा दर्ज कर आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।मृतक अपने पीछे पांच बेटियां और दो बेटे छोड़ गए हैं। घटना से परिवार में मातम का माहौल है।
