An ICJ advisory ruling in 2019 found that the decolonisation process pertaining to Mauritius was illegal and recommended that the U.K. stop its administration of the Chagos Islands. The deal includes a £40 million trust fund to support Chagossians, who will be permitted to resettle in all islands except Diego Garcia.

NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar was admitted to a private hospital in Pune on Sunday (February 22, 2026) after suffering from mild dehydration, doctors said. "He has been admitted to the Ruby Hall Clinic for mild dehydration and requires intravenous fluids. His condition is stable. Dr Grant and Dr Abhijit Lodha, consultant physician at the hospital, were supervising his treatment. Earlier, the former Union Minister was admitted to the same hospital on February 9 following a chest infection and was discharged on February 14.

The brewing industry will invest around Rs 5,500 crore in Uttar Pradesh in the next three years on setting up of greenfield units and its ancilleries, industry body BAI said. ADVERTISEMENT"The beer industry and its ancillary industries will be investing Rs 5,500 crore in the next three years," said BAI Director General Vinod Giri. Elaborating the projects, he said work on two greenfield breweries costing around Rs 1500 crore is already underway. However, beer prices would remain the same. According to reports, India is ranked 13th globally in total beer consumption, with north India leading consumption, with high demand from Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
