At a time when a degree of uncertainty surrounds the merits of the national side after a mixed bag of performances last month, the even years of Six Nations action that pits Ireland on the road against France and England are hardly ideal. On the flip side, maybe it will tell us all we need to know 18 months out from the World Cup. Pep Guardiola believes 2025 was one of his best years at Manchester City. Given the injury problems the club have had over the past 12 months – most notably to key midfielder Rodri – Guardiola feels it was an excellent showing. “It was one of the best seasons we have had as a team, with the guys who were there, in all the seasons. It helped change the momentum and, while Guardiola insisted he never planned to make use of the January transfer window, he acknowledged it could work. He said: “I said before, when we started last season, I never expect to go to the transfer window in wintertime.

Recent research estimates eight in 10 Americans have had at least one hangover after a night of over-indulging. Because most Americans get hangovers and have a harder time avoiding them with age, quick-fix hangover remedies have become an ever-growing market. Globally, the hangover cure market is valued at $2.3billion, with experts estimating it will surpass $6.2billion by the end of the decade. There is no clear harm, however, to taking Bacillus subtilis. Dr Buckle told the Daily Mail that while Pre-Alcohol seems promising, hangovers are best prevented by addressing the source.

Photograph: Trump MobileTrump Mobile, the phone company launched by Donald Trump’s family business, has pushed back plans to deliver a $499 (€425) gold-coloured smartphone by the end of the year. The Trump Organisation licensed its name to launch a mobile service and the device in June, in the latest monetisation of his presidency by a family business empire now run by Mr Trump’s sons. In the latest setback for the project, Trump Mobile said there was a “strong possibility” the handset would not be delivered this month, the Financial Times reported. The T1 smartphone, described by the company as “proudly American”, was initially promoted as a US-made rival to devices from Apple and Samsung. The move into phones also raises questions about conflicts of interest, as the president’s family business operates in a sector that is heavily regulated by federal agencies over which Mr Trump wields executive power.

Winfrey also reflected on another deeply vulnerable moment from 1992, when she attended the Daytime Emmy Awards weighing 237 pounds. Since she has started using a GLP-1 medication two and a half years ago, Winfrey says she's 'seen all' her 'relationships improve.'

Hard-pressed consumers may be turning to gambling to help fund their way out of the cost-of-living crisis, amid "wall-to-wall" betting adverts, addiction experts have warned. Some of it will be recreational, but in a cost-of-living crisis-type situation, some people would turn to gambling as a means to make ends meet. But, he said, with proactive regulation, it could actually be used as a tool to help support those at risk of problem gambling. The data is there, and models will be able to predict who is gambling in a harmful way. “We need to move the dial in terms of our understanding of gambling disorder as a biologically driven brain disease,” he added.
