Fota Wildlife Park is celebrating the birth of two endangered cheetah cubs. The Northern cheetah cubs — a male and a female — are the offspring of mother Florence and father Nawab. Florence, who is five, was born at Fota Wildlife Park. A spokesperson for Fota Wildlife Park said births like these represent a significant contribution to the EEP, which the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) coordinates. Visitors to Fota Wildlife Park can already see the cubs running around their habitat each day, growing bigger by the day.

Hundreds of thousands of workers will see the first deduction from their pay packets this week to fund a new mandatory pension. A worker on an average wage of €52,200 will see about €15 a week deducted from their pay to fund the new My Future Fund pension. The advice comes as it emerged that more than 5,000 employees have opted to voluntarily enrol into the new My Future Fund pension in its first month. However, for those workers, My Future Fund could be their only opportunity to save into a pension scheme and to build up a pension pot for their retirement years, Ms Bruen said. Part-time workers who are not already paying into a company pension scheme and don’t earn enough to be automatically enrolled can voluntarily opt-in to the scheme.

“Sam Ewing was deputising for J J (Slevin) and he was very confident at the time and also very complimentary about him afterwards. Meanwhile, Blizzard Of Oz is not without mention as he attempts to bounce back to his best in Sunday’s O’Driscolls Irish Whiskey Leopardstown Handicap Chase. “Blizzard Of Oz was disappointing at Leopardstown at Christmas but was running a huge race in the Coral Gold Cup before making a mistake at the cross-fence. J J thought he was cantering and if he’s in the same form there is a big handicap in him. “You can put a line through his last run and I don’t think soft ground will be much of a problem for him.”

So-called 'injury units' across Midwest counties treated more than 50,000 people last year — one in three emergency patients locally. Injury units at Nenagh, Ennis, and St John’s hospitals offer an alternative to the emergency department for minor injuries. “More than one in three of all unscheduled care patients attending HSE acute hospitals across the region are seen in one of our injury units,” HSE Midwest said. The injury units are heavily used and operating at scale, diverting one in three urgent care contacts and doing exactly what they were designed to do. You've got to be experiencing, and you've got to earn the right, for people to feel your value, right? And because if you haven't earned the right, you're gone.
