Napoli are considering disciplinary action after former Manchester United and Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku failed to turn up for training, the club has confirmed in a statement. The club released a statement on Tuesday, which read: 'Napoli announce that Romelu Lukaku did not respond to today's call-up ahead of the resumption of training. 'The club reserves the right to evaluate the adoption of appropriate disciplinary measures as well as the continuation of the player's participation in the team on an indefinite basis.' But in the end I will get there and help Napoli and national team to their respective objectives when called upon. Lukaku's former club Inter Milan lead the title race with a six-point gap over Massimiliano Allegri, with eight games to go before the end of the season.

What car should I buy to maximise autonomous motorway driving? Patrick FinnThat’s a deceptively simple question, because the answer contains a warning: there are no autonomous cars. [ Should I buy a used car privately or through a dealership?Opens in new window ]Anyway, to get back to giving you an answer rather than a lecture, the best car we’ve tried recently for assisted driving is the BMW iX3. That is perhaps the biggest limitation of these systems – they only really watch the car directly in front of you. It may be some time before computerised control systems can do that.

They linked 35 genes to the condition, a development that the team said could provide a 'road map' for diagnosis. They said the results offered new insights into the genes that were linked to autism in non-European populations, helping doctors to detect the condition. 'This suggests that the biology underlying autism is universal and reinforces the importance of ensuring that diverse populations are represented in genetic research.' For the paper, published in Nature Medicine, scientists analyzed data from the Genomics of Autism in Latin American Ancestries (GALA) Consortium, a research initiative compiling genetic data on Latin American individuals. Only a few studies have analyzed genes linked to autism in non-European groups.

“However, the sharp rise in global energy prices in response to developments in the Middle East represents a significant shock to the global economy, clouding the outlook. “The outlook for interest rates is particularly uncertain and dependent on whether the demand or supply side of the economy is more adversely affected. “This shift has resulted in a sharp rise in longer-term interest rates (swap rates) that underpin fixed-rate mortgage pricing. Mr Gardner said that, with a big proportion of households on fixed-rate mortgages, many are protected from the immediate impact of higher interest rates. Mortgage rates have already edged upwards in response, and this is naturally becoming a talking point among applicants.

Meeting the interim Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa in Berlin, Merz warned that an extended war “could [impose a] burden last seen in the Covid pandemic or at the start of the Ukraine war”. Trump hit out at Merz and his cabinet members as “cowards” after the German leader described US strategy in the region as “a massive, open-ended escalation”. “Iran could fire a ballistic rocket that could reach Berlin [yet] the German government doesn’t accept the risk from Iran,” said Grenell to Die Welt daily. “Let’s start that with the withdrawal of US troops from Germany,” said Thilo Chrupalla, an eastern German AfD co-leader. Trump has repeatedly threatened to withdraw some or all of the 38,000 US soldiers still stationed in Germany, a Nato holdover from the Cold War era and the German unification treaty.

Prime minister Viktor Orban’s ruling Fidesz party is, however, in trouble and, reports say, trailing in multiple opinion polls. Indeed, visitors to Budapest, never mind Hungarian voters, could be forgiven for wondering where Moscow-sympathising strongman Orban is in all this – you would be hard-pressed to see his picture on any of his party’s posters. Curiously, what you will see on Fidesz posters are faces of Orban’s “bogeymen”: Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy, opposition Tisza party leader Péter Magyar and European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen. A smiling portrait of Zelenskiy features in posters in the Hungarian capital, but the words underneath are not ones of support. Orban appears to enjoy support among some Hungarians for his stance on Ukraine, though: Hungary gets oil from Russia via a pipeline that runs through Ukraine.

If I was sitting in a bar, I'd drink six bottles of wine.

A delivery driver was forced at gunpoint to transport the device to Lurgan police station late on Monday in a likely dissident republican attack. Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson described a “horrific and terrible ordeal” for the “terrified” delivery driver. Those responsible for the hijacking of a delivery driver and the attack on the PSNI station in Lurgan have nothing to offer our communities but harm, fear, and disruption. Mr Henderson described a “significant policing operation” overnight, with around 100 homes evacuated, while a controlled explosion was carried out. “Ammunition technical officers carried out a controlled explosion to make the vehicle safe and we now know that this was a crude but viable improvised explosive device,” he said.
