Ionian Refining & Trading Company – IRTC SHA is following with concern the situation created at the Ballsh Refinery. This can only be resolved by guaranteeing the supply of crude oil to the refinery, so that it can operate at maximum capacity. During 2017, the Ballsh refinery was shut down 10 times due to lack of crude oil supply. Our main supplier, and at the same time the only supplier in the market with crude oil, has not made this possible for us. This is the only reason why the IRTC company is unable to operate the Ballsh Refinery and consequently fulfill its obligations to its employees and subcontractors.
